at least the sun is out

The gas grill right outside my kitchen door to the deck. I couldn't open the screen door, which has about three feet of snow against it.
view from my front door
From the upstairs window.  The street (out there, somewhere) has been plowed but there is no way to get to it.  My car (left) is buried across the street, but at least when they get here to plow the driveway( tomorrow, at this rate - it is almost noon) they will be able to do the whole thing.  Of course, if I can't get to my car....
The table and chairs on the deck
We are warm and dry and I have paperwork to do this week. No excuse to avoid it - I'm stuck!

Abundance of snow. I saw it on tv. Hope your fridge is well-filled!

the fridge? not exactly. But we had tuna fish for lunch and fortunately, I have two pounds of organic hamburger meat that I should be able to do something with. And there are always nutburgers from the almonds I just bought at Costco last week - LOL.

Daughter stuck here in Detroit due to snow. First available flight Jan.2 @ 6am. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth - from both of us. She has a friend driving in from here and they intend to leave in the morning after the stomach flu she caught from her grandparents eases off....not my favorite solution but there's probably nothing else to be done or bodily harm may come to us both!

Such a hearty quilting lady! This "sunshine baby" doesn't understand how you Easterners can endure such weather. Amazing.

A meat-and-nuts diet! Can't be wrong in this cold weather.

You weren't singing "Let it Snow" or "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" were you?
Welcome to Anchorage! The community reindeer sleigh will be by in half an hour to take you to the store.
Stunningly beautiful and completely amazing.
I suppose Domino's wouldn't be able to make it either.
Keep warm. May the snowplows and sunshine do their thing swiftly.

That certainly qualifies as a doozy. We just got back from a few days in Ohio and Pittsburgh, PA. It was cold and there was this white crap on the ground! Can't say I miss any of it, but our weather forecast calls for snow tomorrow above 2000 ft. We are at 2800. It doesn't last but since people here don't know how to drive in it, there are tons of accidents. I stay home. Hope this is not a sample of the rest of the winter for either of us.
