green

Everybody's complaining about the rain we have had all week, but it is warm, mostly drizzly rain like the kind I imagine they have in the Northwest.  And everything is so GREEN!!

Early this evening I had to go out on the deck to talk to my herb garden (or herb pots, as the case may be) because I am so thrilled to have them growing.  I worry a bit about what I will do when I go away for a week, but for now, they give me great joy. It has been a long time since I have grown anything. Basil, dill, and cilantro and in other pots, thyme and rosemary.

When I looked up I saw a lush estate, and in the distance, a misty Shangri-La.
And at my feet, reflections in a silvery surface turned ordinary objects into art.
Who knows what color tomorrow will be?

Unfortunately, our rain is usually not warm. We only get rain when it is cold. We do have lots of green!

We need rain in Ohio so bad right now. My grass is starting to turn brown from the heat and lack of rain. I went out to pull a few weeks last evening and the ground is like concrete!

Ah, that looks like a lovely English country garden. As for the herbs- you can never have too much basil and cilantro!

Love your herb garden! I have pics of my "world's biggest rosemary bush" on my blog in an April post. It's about seven years old and stays green no matter the weather. I have new parsley, thyme, oregano growing, too.

I think all the rain is a glorious gift. What fine photos...and herbs.

We have had a chive pot for many years. It grows no matter what and comes back every year. Same with our thyme although it's not as vigorous.
