RIP Molly

Yes, I have been away from the computer for several weeks. While I was away teaching,  my mother, who would have been 96 in June, decided she was done.  I got home this past weekend in time to spend a few days with my family at her bedside and say goodbye.

Molly, true to form, you were feisty and independent to the end.  We will miss you. xo

My condolences on your loss. 96 and remembered for her independent spirit...can't ask for much better than that.

I am so sorry for your loss, Rayna. The words 'feisty and independent'? What a surprise!

So sorry to hear this, Rayna! Feisty, independent, and almost 96 years old - I'd like to be remembered that way some day! And I can't help but notice in this pic how her face lives on, not only in your own but in your dearest Emma; I hope that that evidence of time and inheritance brings you comfort and maybe a smile. Hugs to you - my thoughts are with you!

Rayna, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have enjoyed reading your posts about your mother over the years- she certainly sounded like someone whose company I'd have enjoyed. I hope you find comfort in the many years you had together, and the memories you share with your family.

And I'm sending a big cyber-hug your way!

Oh my dear Rayna...I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. Age is of no consideration. A precious life is just that and cannot be compared to anything at all. Thank goodness for happy memories xxx

Dearest Rayna, Big hugs for you. I am sure you are missing your mum so much. Somehow it is more of a shock when they are feisty and independent, it seems they will go on for even longer and make 96 seem young.
I hope you have family and friends to be with for some time.
Love and prayers,
Sandy

Rayna - So sorry for your loss. I hope that the slow transition from winter into spring at this time, will bring you peace and healing.

Rayna, my condolences. She reached a blessed age. A mother remains present, I believe (and feel quite often). That's a comfort to me. Mine would be 91 now.

So sorry for your loss but OMG - what a testament to life - nearly 96 years of love and laughter! This reminds me of my gram - still miss her! Every day I talk to senior seniors (they call buying their spring wardrobes) and I'm heartened by the fact that we can have so much life even in our waning years. Hugs and prayers for you and yours!

So sorry for your loss. Those last days at the bedside may be hard, but such a blessing to have that bond and the opportunity to say the good byes. I remember her life more fondly, of course, but spending my grandma's last day with her and other family is one of life's moments I will always cherish. Love, hugs, and prayers.

So sorry to read about your mother, Rayna. She seemed like a friend, showing up on your blog from time to time, with that beautiful smile, so much like yours. As much as I miss my own Mom, somehow I always feel like she is near and her voice will always be in my head, in the best way. And she shows up so often in my dreams--such a lovely thing. I wish the same for you.
