how I spent my afternoon

Sitting at the walk-in clinic, sounding like Typhoid Mary, mostly waiting. Waiting for the nurse. Waiting for the doctor. Waiting for the x-ray tech. Waiting for a few other things. And especially waiting for the diagnosis of bronchitis, not pneumonia, which I told them it was when I walked in.  Ha! Doctor Mom gets another gold star for her self-diagnosis.

I have felt worse, but I have also felt better. Nonetheless, armed with a Z-pak, two inhalers to clear my lungs (yes, they seem to work), and some over the counter stuff that promises to suppress my cough - here I am.  The hot toddy was useless, incidentally. And so was the chicken soup.  Oh, well.

Over the weekend I sewed together, then took apart, this piece of work -- after I had stitched some of it.  I decided that I really hated the white background -- that it is great in theory but just isn't me.I also decided to make the units a tiny bit larger.  So that is what I worked on last night and this morning before said trip to the medical facility.

Yesterday I went to the studio and made a couple of screens so I could print scarves. Was planning to go today, but it was not in the cards. I came home and dyed some fabric that came out incredibly ugly. So I overdyed it and it got worse. Did you ever hear of such a thing?  Maybe someday I will actually take a dyeing class -- but probably not.

In the meantime, I feel lousy enough to stay home again tomorrow, so we shall see what develops in my sewing room. I may just sit and read.

My dear friend - you need to stay home and take care of yourself. Sorry you have bronchitis - not good. Try chicken soup again - maybe it will work tomorrow!

Sorry to hear you're not well - it sounds like sitting and reading is the way to go. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Oh, no! I hope you are feeling better today. Nothing worse than bronchitis, and I've only had a full-on case once, many years ago. Didn't go to the Dr. for 10 days, but once I got the antibiotics I recovered quickly. May you have a quick recovery! As for the dyeing... been at it awhile, and I can still come up with some really butt-ugly stuff. I would be happy to tutor you if you were only a little closer! ;-)

I have to say, the white gave me a fright!
It definitely wasn't you... must have been the germs. Glad you went to the doc-in-the-box and hope you're weller soon.

Hi Rayna

I whole heartedly agree about the white. As to the over-dye my next step would be discharge... or shibori with acid dye? Missed you at the meeting, it was a good one. We have once again sworn to be more active on Facebook and the blog. Hopefully that will be true.

Get well quickly, glad Dr. Mom was right!

Oh no -- so sorry you have bronchitis. Say, how about resting??!! I remember all those ugly fabrics of mine that just got uglier the more I worked them... Hope you have a restful weekend, hope you're well again soon. xoxo

I'm a big believer in melds when you're sick. Hope you get better soon. Love your blocks, agree they'd be better if larger. I'd be OK with white background, if there's less of it. I never dye fabric, because of the uncertainty, so better to purchase - it's also too messy and time consuming!
