Where did the time go??

Ha - it went away.  Have spent most of the last few weeks in my guest room - now temporary sewing room - playing around with some ideas.   Some worked out; others, not at all.  And the one that I should have cut up before I quilted it is sitting on my wall, looking sad.    I can't even show it to you -- it is too embarrassing.

When I left my sewing room, it was for the supermarket or to Bed, Bath & Beyond to buy a vacuum.  My mother's old one from the 1970's is great -- except that the retractable cord retracts every time I take a step, so I can only vacuum in one spot.    So, after having read every vacuum review on the Internet, I decided on this one.  It has been lying on the floor for 3 days because I haven't got time to put it together.  I got as far as following the first instruction.

  •   Lay the machine on its back.
The next step requires me to get down on the floor, from which I will never get up.  Phil, my partner and engineer, will not be back until the end of January. So here I am, back in the sewing room, which has a floor that looks like this (and this is not even the worst part).
It is raining.  I have beenup since 4:am.  It is now 6:45 and my NY Times has not
yet arrived - grrrrrr).   There is only one cure for this before I get on with my day.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Ha! Put the vacuum on the bed to assembly it. It hasn't been used yet, it's clean! And if you get tired while working on it, you can just take a quick nap and continue later. LOL

Yikes! No handy teenagers in the neighborhood to help out, huh? I have a carpet sweeper I use sometimes to stave off the need to vacuum. Meanwhile, just don't look at the carpet! Happy Holidays, and enjoy your time in the sewing room!

I've been up since 4am as well. Time does fly, doesn't it! Like this year -- it just started!! and now it's over.
Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones, Rayna. And peace and blessings for the new year.

I bought a vacuum and was surprised I had to put it together! I am not very patience with that sort of stuff, but I eventually figured it out after I asked my DIL how she put hers together. I had bought her one too.

Sounds like there will be some wonderful things coming out of your sewing room eventually. Can't wait to see them!

Have a wonderful holiday season. I am taking off work next week so I will have the 26th to Jan. 2 to play in the studio and work on the house.

Got a Roomba. Doesn't do a perfect job, but it is mesmerizing.
