daylilies. Again. The rain washed away my anti-deer spray and by the time I got home this morning - total destruction. Sigh...
Last night I went to Jeremy's for dinner and ended up staying the night. Today I have been in sewing; something I have wanted to do but never actually got to until today.
I had a few ugly nine-patches that needed serious face lifts,so I was motivated to do something.
I got to work with the rotary cutter.
added some strips
and kept going till I had redone them.
Then I cut each one into quarters. That's as far as I've gotten. Tomorrow I'll pick up where I left off and see where I go from here. Meantime, off to bed.

love your transformation of the nine patch.
Great inspiration to get the juices flowing.
Glad you are sewing again. Wish I could get at it - maybe tomorrow.
In my classes, I try to never use the word ugly because it is so judgemental, but they really is no way around calling these nine patches "ugly"... however: what transformation! from the ugly duck to the beautifull swan, wow! I love the result and am looking forward to seeing how you will continue.
Your original nine patch isn't as bad as you think, that being said the artist in you has called out to tell you to keep going. This to me is a nice nine patch WITH potential. The direction you have taken it so far appears to be meeting that potential. This has now gone from nice to fabulous! I love it :D
That's quite a facelift. Have you considered moving to Hollywood? LOL I actually sort of liked the original blocks alright but your transformation make them sing.
Hmmmm.... sounds like your daylilies need fencing around them! We have elk here, and I learned the hard way to put wire fencing around all my trees. Then, of course, there are the Prairie Dogs who burrow underground and come up where ever the pickin's are to their liking! Better to work on the 9-patch than worry about the flora and fauna!
oh, I love watching this process.......when are you going to have a class? Inspiring me to just start slicing! Can't WAIT for your book to come out.......when is that happening? I saw it in C&T catalog.......
Book comes out in November, Carol, and I'll be in Houston at Market doing a schoolhouse.
This is already a one or two day class and it is such fun to do that I play around with my own stuff just as a challenge. It's never the same twice. Traditional and non-traditionals both love it.
is a good no-brainer way for me to get back to playing while I go through my mourning process.
