Coconut chutney, tamarind chutney, raita, papadams, and vegetable samosas, which came out of the oven after I took the picture. I ate too much and Marty loved the sambar, which I didn't expect. That's the breaking news and with that, I shall say ta ta till tomorrow.

Reva - you don't need to make a lot of numbers. Just google random number generator and you will find apps for giving you a truly random #.
Gerrie, you took away R.'s pleasure of printing a sheet of paper, cutting it and applying calligraphic numbers...
Now. Idly. J makes me laugh a lot. I love it! But my first husband, the Turkish guy, was very funny, too. Sometimes. He tried to explain what he could not say in German, by making gestures; once he put a question. I wasn't sure about the answer and hestitated. He kept gesturing and gasped: "Awa, tell me, quick! My arms are getting tired!"
I have so enjoyed your blog this last year. I don't think I will ever get to 1000 posts. Congratulations!!!
I am so amazed !! you actually did make the sambhar...looks good ...ok ..I want dinner at your place!!
Happy eating and Happy Sounds of Laughter!!
Mmmm- the dinner looks wonderful. I'm not familiar with sanbar, though- guess I'll have to pay attention next time I am eating Indian out.
Too bad you don't get to see your brother more often- everyone needs someone who can make you fall over laughing.
I recently purchased your wonderful book and it has inspired me to print my own fabric. I'm wanting to use it to make purses and tote bags. Here is a Flickr set of some of my surface design experiments (so far): http://www.flickr.com/photos/enchiladaplate/sets/72157622597508175/
I'm really looking forward to trying some deconstructed silkscreen!

Oh oops did I miss it? I read your blog every day and enjoy seeing what you are working on.

The food looks yummy! I have a cookbook of vegetarian Indian recipes and get obsessed with it several times a year and we eat Indian 5 out of 7 days. :)
