the rest of the week

Tuesday was a busy day. I received an invitation from The Abruzzo School of Creative Art in Italy to teach there, Aug 1-7, 2012. Yes, 2012!  I'm really excited - and if you have airline miles, you can use them to treat yourself to a class with me in what looks like paradise! Check it out!!

Tuesday I also trekked to Brooklyn for a few special days with you-know-who. Practically the only time she sat still for long enough that I could get a photo, was when she was eating. This was an exception - she loves hats and I had bought this hand-knitted in Ecuador one for her at the Hell's Kitchen Flea on Sunday.  She roared like a lion as soon as she saw it.  I roared with laughter.
Thursday's weather required the hood - brrrrrrrr. We were on our way to gymnastics class a few blocks away.
Hanging from he bar --her favorite activity. In the meantime, all that exercise makes for good, long naps. I left for home while Emma was taking one and am still working on recovering!

Rayna, that teaching gig sounds FABULOUS!!!! I mean fabulosa, bella....i wish i had any chance of saving up enough either pennies or miles, but we are spending both on a trip to Japan to visit my husband's daughter. We were supposed to go last spring, the week of the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster (and even with all that, my husband still wanted us to go!)
And Miss E is beyond fabulous! That sweater or jacket or whatever is great - I would buy that in a heartbeat for Ylvia if I came across it. She is the cutest little thing ever, except for Sylvia, of course. Oh, and Sylvia is also signed up for gymnastics next "semester". (Do you remember babies having semesters????)

Congrats on the teaching opportunity--sounds wonderful! Loved your urban grit photos--I want to come next time! Looks like some great jumping off points for new pieces! You are lucky to have such great stuff in your "backyard!"

wowowzer! I do wish I could join you in Italy. I swooned when I checked out the area you'll be teaching in. Outstanding urban grit photos; nothing like that here, or, if there is I haven't discovered it yet. Maybe I should start exploring again. XOXO

Italy sounds great - can I drive there? Thanks for sharing your G'girl with us - she is in my G'girl album and I will get to watch her grow up. Right? Love, Del

Oh Rayna, Italy is a neighbour of Spain... But August is a bit too early, maybe another year??!! So good to read this news, you must be very happy (and the students in Italy also)
Hugs,
Regina

Funny how some small children react on hats or caps! They are so different. When I was small, I loved hats, and I had one, sewn by my Mom, which was "elegant" -- well, suitable for a child. I roared when it was blown away into the lake once, but -- believe it or not: A man who was catching fish caught my hat.
Feeling sooo tempted to go to Italy, but how?...
