hello from sunny Fla

I can receive e-mail but can't send it for some weird reason. My mother fell and fractured her hip and had surgery yesterday. I hopped on the first available plane and got here last night. Don't ask. Meantime, I'm hijacking somebody's signal which is so slow that I'm having trouble loading any pictures, so this will undoubtedly be a text-only message unless I can go to the library or somewhere. I can receive e-mail but not send it. Huh? The SPUN opening was terrific and there were lots of people there. A number of pieces sold (including mine) which was good. I must say it was a beautiful exhibit of small pieces. Here is the link, which I can't even get to on this slow computer. Elin Waterston assures us there will be more pix posted in the next few days. http://www.katonahartcenter.com/currentexhibit.html . That's all for now. I'll post more if I can get a faster connection later in the day.

Hope your mother is better, Rayna. I know how difficult it is with a parent in hospital - my mum spent 6 months "inside" a couple of years ago and emerged with an amputated leg.

Thanks, everybody. Terry, my piece is the one on the postcard that I posted on my blog a while ago.

Congratulations, Rayna. With you at her side, she will recuperate quickly. You are such a good daughter to be there with/for her.

Oh Rayna - I know exactly what you are going thru....my Mom broke her hip Oct 2003 (13 days after moving here to SK) and I was her main care giver.....barely any art was done during that first 6 months. I hope surgery and her recovery goes well.
My Mom was determined to walk by spring 2004 and she was - with a walker and/or cane but she was walking.
My heart goes out to your Mom and you!!!
CONGRATULATIONS on the first place at SPUN and for the sale!
Sending lots of cyber HUGS......

We have my DH's 92 yr-old aunt living with us. I found her on the floor Tuesday morning. She's had another small stroke. Time can be mean to old people, & I feel sad for her.
Sorry for your mom's troubles. I hope she does ok.
We miss you here on the web too.Good luck.
