cocoa

Karoda commented that ever since my post on cocoa, she's been having some every day. I, of course, ran out of milk right after that cocoa post and was too lazy all week to stop just for milk. But then I was down to two eggs and I have to bake for Monday's crit group -- so Whole Foods on the way home. I picked up a few items, including my organic lactose-free 1% milk, and as I was leaving the dairy case, the chocolate display blocked my way to the check-out. There was nothing to do but stop and look. But wait!! What did they have but Valharona cocoa imported from France! It was fated. Here it is, side by side with the Hershey's cocoa in my pantry. They not only look different, the Valharona actually smells like chocolate. At $8.99 a pound, it should. So I had my cocoa tonight - and I feel so warm and comfy that I just know I'll sleep like a baby.

Oh, yum, I love Vahlrona and it is fat free so if you use it judiciously with non-fat milk - what a treat. I like to add a Trader Joe's square marshmallow to mine.

I can just imagine that chocolate display jockeying into position between you and the checkout lines at Whole Foods! MMMMMM: the Vahlrona looks lovely. We are going to WF today to pick up arugula, so I'm hoping our chocolate display will be as pushy as yours was! LOL

Even in the Atlanta area it is cocoa weather. My 5 yr old granddaughter and I had a big pot just the other day! Have to go to WF and see if I can get some Valharona.

Have you tried Cafe D'Vita from Costco? It's instant mocha cappuccino, 97 or 99% caffeine free, nothing fattening in it (just some chemicals, I'll admit). I drink it liberally, instead of cocoa. I use soy or almond milk in mine, with water, 50/50. Absolutely delicious!
