I like to say that I started printing on fabric because I’m such a terrible dyer. However, since I started printing, I haven’t made a great effort to improve my dyeing that would give me the good, rich colors that so many people covet. I can buy those from Helene Davis, master dyer extraordinaire.

Hi
I'm so glad I found your blog today, via Ruth Rae. Your work and experiences are very inspiring
Best wishes,
Carolyn
Love watching you change the fabric!
I understand your mindset. I hate to give up on anything and worse yet to throw anything out. This week made 2 small quilts from stuff in my scrap box. You can see pics on my blog. Love your stuff and still having fun with your book.

mm, your're right- everyone would approach it differently. might try some LWI a bit darker than the base color on the piece you discharged, or maybe another screen with the same sort of value. Most of the fun for me is in the trying or 'what if's.'
I'm more than happy to play with any of your rejects!
I love watching you play with your layers of color and texture - it inspires me to try more!
Now I'd offer to take your rejects and play, but I'd more than likely end up making machine cording from it (seems like sacrilege after all that effort!!)
I love your work! I don;t know how big this piece is but if it is small I could see black or navy or purple turning to rust dripping down this piece. I love mixed media work and having odd pieces to alter would be wonderful. Soooo...
if you decide to have people try altering some of your rejects I would love to play.
We do this because it's fun, I thought.
I so relate... I have a round robin fabric on my board right now, and I'm totally at a loss as to how to help it! So it sits...
Me, I liked the disected frog! But the red lines are good, too...
Oh do I love how that first fabric turned out!
xo
Count me in on what would I do exercises!
Any time you'd like to throw some fabric my way would be a good day!! I love it when you do "what I tried this" experiments, very inspiring and gives me hope for some of my pieces. The pieces on this post are remarkable!
