I can't take credit for this one -- my friend Mona sent it out this morning with the above subject line. I had to share it with you.
It is still snowing here. Yesterday morning, as it was starting I took a picture of the table on the deck but it wasn't worth posting. But compare it to the one I just took, 24 hours later (and still coming down).
Later...I was cleaning off the cars before they came to plough the driveway and who was in the street in the middle of all this?
By the time I ran to get my iPhone they were further away, but they are huge! I was knee-deep in snow and didn't get everything cleaned off but better than nothing. The sun is out, everything is melting - it reminds me of the way it was in Boulder when I lived there. Big snow - sun came out and there was never any ice on the roads. Delicious.

Holy white stuff, Batman, that's a lotta snow! Pretty, but I'm sure you are sick to death of it by now.
I have photos like that from 2008 - I'm happy to have rain here in PDX.
Very funny... and I think Philadelphia is going to get off lighter this time. But I still may give snow dyeing one more shot!
Rayna, I just love this posting. I have to share it with my non-quilting friends.
Ha! This joke works in German, too.
We have rain and mild temperatures, the snow & ice turn into the ugliest colors you can think of, but melt like mad, and the blackbird started singing a few days ago, tonight he sang his first evening concert.
TWO funny!
Ya know, when I even see pictures of snow I get a sick feeling in my stomach! I'd stop looking at your blog until spring except for those Miss Emma updates- what a cutie! Hope she never has to postpone her birthday parties for snow! I hope that for my grandkids too- two deep winter kids also. Keep shoveling, it's got to end at some point.
Your place looks like mine today! my table on the balcony looks like a giant muffin too. we went up on our roof to play int he snow and make snowmen and snow forts, it was so light weight, yest sticky, perfect fun!
now I am looking at the giant mess in my studio.. and freaking out a bit....
sigh...
Our very similar table still has about 10" on top, but it's melting around the edges.
We were spared this time around! Enjoy your new snow, if that's possible.
Someone had a wicked sense of humor. I don't miss that stuff!
Guess those birds feel very secure... it is a long way till Thanksgiving.
That is a lot of snow- the snow sculpture is too funny!!
I take it you wouldn't have been amused by the huge (20+ birds) flock of wild turkeys we saw up Diamond Fork a couple of weeks ago? They probably weren't as well fed as those two--
Gotta love those turkeys!!! LOL
The snow is lovely: I'm glad you got it and not us, and I'm even happier that it is going away!
xo
Those feet kill me.
The table looks like a gigantic sugary confection of some sort. Hmmm, sugar...
Big hug and a kiss to you, Rayna. Great photos, great news, and outstanding baby.
