here's the problem

I don't always have something to say. Unlike some people in this blogring, whom I admire greatly beause they post almost every day with something interesting, I can't do that. I mean, can I assume that you will be interested in these mundane facts of my life? I...
  • Took my car in for its 30,000 mi service and came out more than $1,000 poorer. But they did wash my car.
  • Did not take a walk today.
  • Went out for dinner tonight and did not overeat but made up for it with a ton of Haagen Dazs Black Walnut ice cream, which I am eating as we speak.
  • Spent almost an hour on the phone with my friend Helene tonight, which cheered me up immeasurably.
  • Ironed 2 more scarves.
  • Would go to bed now except that the other resident of this household is watching tv in the bedroom and I cannot sleep with noise. On the other hand, why should he be relegated to the basement tv just because I need my BEAUTY sleep???
  • Found out that the Printing from your Pantry class I am teaching11/19 at the Arts Guild of Rahway can accomodate 2 more people. If you're in driving distance of exit 135 on the Garden State Parkway, go to http:///www.rahwayartsguild.org and maybe you'll get lucky. Gelatin Plate printing fun!
  • have decided to go up to bed and see what happens. I may or may not report back.

I am curious about black walnuts... are they similar to brown walnuts? We don't seem to get them here. The ice cream sounds yummy...

I enjoy reading details of people's lives, especially when they are different from my own...

wish I lived closer, I would be there for sure.

I can't imagine how anyone could be uninterested in a post that includes the words "Haagen Dazs Black Walnut ice cream". YUM!

Hope you got to sleep.

And to Liz, I think black walnuts taste completely different than the other kind (which I've always heard referred to as English Walnuts) but I'm not sure how to explain *how* they taste different. I just know that I prefer the black ones in sweet things like ice cream and fudge.

What are you jealous about, Claire? The black walnut ice cream (or the gelatin printing?) I never had it before - the walnuts are sweeter - more like pecans. My mother's hairdresser said if you have dry hair you need more fat in your diet: haagen dazs. My hair is dry, so we'll see if it improves. Likely story.

Carol- I mostly just stay in my studio till I hear the tv go off. Sometimes I am lucky and he has fallen asleep with it on, so I just shut it off.

Hope you got some rest...wish I was close enough to take your class. To top it off, two of my kids took us out to dinner for my birthday...could I stop there..no? For the first time in two years, I had pumpkin pecan ice crean. Thank goodness, Ronnie helped eat some but I see mucho exercise in the future. Brother, was it good ice cream.

Ear plugs. I have to resort to them occassionally because I like to read when hubby is watching tv, and I can't concentrate on two things at once - or ignore either one completely.

Funny, but your life and travels seem so glamorous to many of us, and I, for one, enjoy finding that all of those mundane things still must be taken care of even in the lives of the creme de la creme.

Although, I don't list my "to do's" on the blog, I have tons of lists and take great pleasure in checking off these minor accomplishments. Probably because doing all of the various mundane chores of life are harder to do than working all day on a project I love, and therefore, feel I need a pat on the back for doing the laundry, dusting, etc.

I'd never write a thing on my blog if I thought it had to be interesting. YIKES. I think that knowing we all have to do laundry and take our cars in for services or our water heaters are acting up is part of what makes the fact that we've made some art wonderful. I have to brush my dogs now.

Brush your DOGS? And I though I had annoying tasks to do - LOL.

Gabrielle - i should do mucho exercise but don't -- although we won't go there. Pumpkin pecan ice cream? Yum.

Jen - My glamorous Sat. night consists of making spaghetti sauce and doing dishes. We ate out last night. My glamorous Sunday consists of watching my 6 year old grandson's soccer game. I hope the weather isn't too cold.
