I have to share this

Back to the kitchen in a minute, but I have to show you a finished piece by Pauline Salzman, one of my students in Printing with Found Objects in Houston. She just sent me the jpg and I'm so excited to see finished work that I need to share it with you. This is what I love so much about teaching!! She printed the black and white grids and the red section in the class and then added the other layers. I rarely get to see finished work that the workshop fabrics turn into, so this is a bonus. That's it -- I need to go check on the turkey.

Hi R

This is fantastic. Pauline-it is wonderful and not like what you usually do so well.

You shared your stencil with me but I am still admiring my fabric.
Printing on fabric with found objects was so much fun.
Rayna's classes are great!

I certainly understand the urgency to share this piece!

Rayna, just to let you know, I was feeling antsy after a fmq practice and decided to paint on fabric with acrylics...I used a liquitex fabric medium to mix with the acrylics and a potato masher for surface design. I plan on adding more layers and will give you a heads up when I post it.

Thanks for sharing Pauline's piece!

Well,Pam, you should admire that fabric till it tells you what it wants to be when it grows up. Then you can send me a jpg, too. Or maybe I can see it when I come to Fla. this winter.

Gee, Karoda, we crossed in the mail -- you were posting a comment as I was posting a comment! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

What a great piece! Do you know what the line element is in the lower right corner? It almost look like silvery-colored stick pearls to me, but I can't tell for sure from the photo if it really is or if that's something printed on the fabric as well.

Pauline, you stealth commenter, you! Look like bullets to me - but I am a fan of ambiguity.

Pauline needs to enter this in "Changing the World, One thread at a Time"!! It is great!
